The museum presently features a small but interesting display of Treasure Island history. The real attraction is the magnificent building from the 1939/40 fair. A magnificent moderne structure with original statuary from the fair on display out front. The building stood in for the Berlin Airport in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The views of SF are terrific. The island can be easily reached by an 8 minute ferry ride from the Ferry Building for $5. There is a very nice beach near the museum and a good lunch with an incredible view is available from the Mersea restaurant nearby. Well worth a trip out on the bay.

Very strange room in something you might want to bring out-of-town folks to visit. It's definitely off the beaten Trail. It's essentially one room with a large mural. The views of the City from here are amazing. And I definitely don't mean Oakland because who cares. Overall I would say a very unique Place perhaps not first on your list but maybe an interesting spot to bring people for a different kind of San Francisco experience.

I really enjoyed my time visiting the treasure Island museum. I love the murals on the wall and the art deco lobby. The buildings architecture is beautiful and this place is definitely worth a stop. The museum is great and the goals bar distillery is really nice and very appealing aesthetically. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

To be honest, barely worth making a journey out of the city for it currently consists of 4 panels describing the making of the island, the Flying Clipper operation, the World Expo - of which the building itself is the main remnant (and a great bit of Art Deco), and the military base. Additionally there's a very small room with a few mildly interesting items from the expo. There's a notice to say Under Renovation. This could be, with funding, an...
