Ceiba de la Libertad — Attraction in San Germán

In different cultures, like Mayan or other Central American or Caribbean cultures, ceiba trees signify different symbolic beliefs and spiritual meanings.

Whichever you tend to believe, it is a fact that this ceiba tree, planted well over a hundred years ago, boasting a massive partially exposed root system, as seen on the photo, is a sight to see. This tree is very large and to think it's over a century young.

The tree is on private property, but it appears the owners allow visitors to get close and see it in amazement.
