We have visited TDN three times so far and the experience gets better every time. I highly recommend making reservations for the inside AC room if you want a less casual atmosphere than the open space near the pizza area.
What I love about this place is the extreme attention to the cook of the dishes. Whether it is a pasta, risotto, salad, or the amazing artisanal pizzas - you can tell the chef supervises the dish to ensure great taste and excellent presentation.
Some of the appetizer dishes are insane. I have been trying them all a bit at a time. The best so far is the one with breaded "boquerones" (local anchovies) with red morron pepper, and a white mustard dip. It's an amazing bit with a bit of fresh lemon juice.
The quintessential crowd pleasers appetizers are also another level: croquetas, focaccia garlic bread, chorizos, and the cheese platter.
Risottos come out on point. Pasta is fresh and al dente. And the proteins are cooked to the right temperature.
I like the chef's wine selection. Take your time to stop by their wine cooler to select your bottle. Some of my guest preferred cocktails and they were pleased with the preparation.
The pizzas are great. I wish I lived closer to SG to order for movie night. They are made fresh to order and baked on a fantastic brick over fueled with leña. (As God intended).
This is a must-visit place...
Read morePro: Excellent Italian restaurant near the the open market plaza of the city in San German, PR. It was my first time in San German and I decided to have lunch at the restaurant. I enjoyed a pasta dish named Caccio Pepe; linguini style pasta in a delicious white sauce with freshly grounded black pepper and some peppercorns. I accompanied the meal with an Old Fashioned, very delicious. For dessert, a piece of Carrot Cake with white frosting and pieces of walnuts. Service, food, and ambience was great.
Con: The restaurant, although rather spacious, unfortunately only a small section towards the cafe area was air conditioned. That is where I had my meal because it was over 90° that day. The rest of the restaurant was cooled by ceiling fans and open windows, however, it was too hot and humid to sit down there. Secondly, food portion was rather small for the price. Thirdly, it is rather pricey, my meal consisting of three items, including tip came out to $51.16. Although, they have an extensive menu. Lastly, be sure to ask for pricing of cocktails... I asked for an Old Fashioned and was charged an additional $3.00 because I requested the drink to be made with Monkey Shoulder whisky. My one drink cost me $15.00!
I still think it's worth a try, just be sure to ask for pricing if the cost of an item is...
Read moreDine in Sunday around 5ish. First visit was very pleasant. Very expensive and with that said food and drink was very good to great. I wouldn’t recommend the Calamari dish yet it was very tasty just the presentation was fair. The wines choices are very good . The tiramisu is not traditional yet very tasty. The Espresso was on point.
