I ordered a barley crusher grain mill here. I wonât go into all the specifics or weâd be here all day but I had several phone and email interactions with both Katie and the owner Mike and both are rude. Katie was my first interaction and she was more concerned with money and being inconvenienced than good customer service. She was rude, inpatient and lacked empathy for the situation. I decided to cancel my order all together and go with a Monster grain mill. I asked for a return shipping label once I was refunded and was then told to mark the box âRefuse. Return to sender.â With the holidays being so busy it wasnât till after Christmas a couple weeks later I finally had a chance to drop it off at usps. When I reached out to the owner after he also seemed to not really care about it other than if I had done as asked with the box. If youâre looking for a good local place to shop with good customer service and fast shipping⌠this isnât the place. If customer service doesnât matter to you and youâd rather save a few bucks, get attitude when you speak to someone there and wait 2 weeks for your package to arrive? Then this place will be just fine for you.
update* In reply to your response Home Brew Ohio⌠it was never about your control over shipping. It was the attitude, lack of compassion/empathy and patience on the phone when I voiced my concerns about it. Very poor customer service. From both of you on separate occasions. Yes the package arrived the next day but again it means nothing bc if you had just been nice to me on the phone and been less concerned about money then you wouldnât have lost a customer and we wouldnt be here. Clearly you didnât understand that from what I posted above and are just trying to dismiss what I said. Again. And btw you do have some control over shipping. You choose to buy the cheapest option there is - usps knowing they have a terrible track record during the holidays. Some people would pay more for ups bc it reliable and faster. And next time donât be so cheap and make me return the package ârefuse. Return to senderâ bc you donât wanna pay for a shipping label then bother me at where itâs at. I placed a basic brew setup order as a gift(you know- amber bottles, gallon brew jars, airlocks, 3 beer kits, a fun beginner set). The box of bottles arrived with one bottle broken, eleven were fine. No worries I thought. So, I emailed to ask that a new bottle be sent out and heard back from Katie, the Customer Service Manager. She just issued me a refund for $3. I explained that didn't help because I needed a new bottle to replace the damaged product or my gift is not right. Too bad, she had already issued a refund, and they don't have boxes to ship a single bottle. When I pressed the issue, she said I can pack up the box and send the whole thing back and then place a new order and wait for that box, albeit, according to Katie, glass can break. So my thought was, it could again arrive broken...and then I repackaged the box, placed a new order and waited another couple weeks and I still don't have a replacement bottle.    Read morePlaced an order from them through Wal-Mart marketplace. Ordered on Saturday and saw that it should arrive by Thursday which was a good so I could brew on following Saturday. Order showed shipping label was printed for the item on Sunday so I was happy it was going to be shipped and arrive on time. But unfortunately that is all the further it went. I emailed them the Saturday I was hoping to brew and got a response of "We appologize. We are giving you a refund."
All I wanted was my item. I even pushed back brewing a week just to have my order cancelled. No explanation what happened to my order. We're they out of stock? Did someone just drop the ball and the easy way is to just give a refund and walk away? I figure at this point having some business would be a good thing.
Anyway still waiting for a refund and I was told I will have to deal with Wal-Mart in regards to that now.
I'm sure they are much better than what I experienced especially on store but as an online business I am left...
