Depot Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Sandusky

My husband and I stopped here specifically for breakfast. The service was excellent & our food order was served promptly. Our server who was new (working that for only a month) was very courteous and pleasant. She made sure that our orders were correct & prepared to our satisfaction; also kept my husband's coffee cup filled with fresh, hot coffee. I had sausage gravy and biscuits, 2 medium fried eggs, & bacon. My husband had the loaded potatoes with scrambled eggs. It has been a VERY LONG TIME since we both have been served a meal that was properly cooked the way it was requested--food pricesareVERY REASONABLE. In addition, the restaurant was VERY CLEAN. It was a nice change to pick up salt & pepper shakers that did not feel sticky or greasy. We most definitely will go back to this restaurant again & would not hesitate to travel from Mansfield, OH to Sandusky, OH for a meal. We would highly recommend The Depot Family Restaurant. In fact, we are already planning a other trip for a dinner this time. The ONLY criticism we have is that they close at 3 pm--wish they stayed open later in the day...

Had a take out order Omlet toast. I ordered wheat. I think was white. I like my toast dark. No way. Toast was soggy. The home fries i order them burnt very under cook. Omlet was good but i could only eat half. The price was inflated for what i got. 9.+ almost 10. One waitress over worked. Had to use the bathroom. I have walker and i am disabled. The toilet was low. There were no bars to grab. The door to womans restroom was very hard to open. It stuck. I could barely turn around in the restroom. The doors to the restaurant were very hard to open with a walker. Going into vestibule. The door going into and going out was very hard to manuver to go in and out. I put this restraunt on the list if you have a walker or anyother...

The Depot family restaurant is my go to every time I'm in the area. I spend a lot of time at Cedar Point and camp nearby. It's such a good place for me to fill up before I go to enjoy the day at the amusement park. The staff is very nice to every customer. Never been treated poorly or felt out of place. The restaurant is not big and that's what I like. It has that small town amazing food thing that we all love. I'm a huge fan of great breakfast. I suggest if you are in the area that you give them a try. The restaurant is not huge but they have moved tables for us in the past and never had a problem...
