Nice clean and well kept area. Even though the ranger station is closed currently due to covid, the bathrooms and the grounds are very clean and well-kept. They also have lots of great Trail information posted on the bulletin board, including links which take you to the PDFs to download on your phone. Overall it's a great experience, and much more than some of the other ranger stations have done.

Little Zig Zag Falls is a hidden gem between Government Camp and Rhododendron in the Mt. Hood National Forest. The trail up to the Falls is fairly easy. The water is crystal clear running down the riverbed. It’s a beautiful little wayside station for a short nature walk experience.

When my car got stuck in snow on a small forest road recently, I managed to get through to FS HQ in Sandy telling them my location. Within an hour Officer Mireles had arrived and provided support as I waited for a tow truck to arrive. Little did we know that it would take the truck 8 hours to get there, during which time Mr Mireles stayed close by, was actively helpful and worked many hours of overtime to ensure that I wasn't left alone in the forest, where there was very little cell service. As a single female and somewhat new to the area, thank you so much. Tow truck arrived in complete darkness at close to 1am so you can image how grateful I was not to be...

I visited the zig zag ranger station 12_11_2020 because I had a xmas tree cutting permit for mt hood national forest and asked the ranger for the best place nearby to cut a tree and he told me to drive all the way up to Government Camp (where it was snowing!) and try the area snow park. I think he was trying to be unhelpful as I found a section of national forest just a few miles away (and not in the snow). Dangerous advice, bad advice, ignorant advice or just passive aggressive...

We travel extensively and have always had great service and wonderful information until the zigzag ranger station. The man on duty was helpful and gave us some ideas and a helpful map. The woman was sarcastic and condescending. She asked us if we knew how to read a map condescendingly. Then told us we needed to do research on our own. We'll ask locals for suggestions or help before we'll go back there. A very disappointing stop on our...
