ZigZag Inn — Restaurant in Oregon

12/2021 This has been our favorite restaurant up here since moving up here over 3 years ago. We used to come every couple of weeks until Covid and then we just started staying home. We finally are eating out again and have visited a few times in the last few months. It's sad to not see the previous staff, but we understand what has happened and it's not exclusive to ZigZag. Unfortunately tonight was a bad experience.

Here are my concerns: #1 - When asking about a menu item it is not cool to have the server respond "same as always". I mean, I honestly wouldn't have asked if I had known the answer to the question 🤷‍♀️

#2 - Update the menu. Taco salad no longer served in a shell? Cool...but don't make a comment that it's been like that "forever"...it hasn't. We have gotten in a shell and the menu STILL shows that description.

#3 - When two sides of dressing are requested (one for the taco salad, one for the onion things), don't omit it from my sandwich because "you assumed I wanted it that way because I asked for the side" (this was the servers exact words 😳). For context, my sandwich was supposed to come with Italian dressing and I asked for a side of ranch for the onion rings.

I'm honestly not trying to be difficult but please don't have a comeback for literally everything we say. We are not being difficult. We asked one question before placing our order (what is the veggie today?), one when our food came out (about the taco salad shell), one when I bit into my dry Pompeii sub (where is the Italian dressing? Can I get some now please?). Speaking of the sub, half cold and half hot makes for a weird combo...I was expecting a nice broiled sandwich with a little lettuce. The only thing that was warm was the meat and cheese.

We will give it another shot someday and hopefully we don't get the same server!

12/2020 Love the...

We decided to try this place again, What a mistake. We have lived on the mountain for 19 years. for about the first 10 years we enjoyed eating and drinking there.We quit going there because my husband was hospitalize for 3 days along with 5000.00 bill, He got food poisoning from the there dirty beer taps, Another problem we had there is the credit card machine doesn't very well, they keep charging your card until they think it works.The next day I check my card they had charge my account 3 times!! When i called they said it would take a few days to get my money credited back, We tried the place again last night after several years of staying away, The place was dead. We were the only people there. I ordered a cobb salad less the tomatoes. My husband ordered a BLT and Onion rings. We waited 40 minutes for our order. When the brought out the food she noticed I had tomatoes on my salad. She put down my husband dinner it was even close to a BLT it was some kind of pasta dinner. took your plates back, Didn't say a word to us until she brought the food back another 40 minutes later. The salad had the tomatoes scraped off. His sandwich had half a head of lettuce on it. Onion rings were burnt and coated in grease. It looks like a cool place, it is a nice building but not worth the chance. We won't be going back....

This place obviously needs to hire more people, particularly those with restaurant experience. Poor young people working looked stressed with the busy crowd. We called in an order to go, we’re told it would take about 35 minutes because it was a busy weekend-no problem, that’s the reason we ordered our food to go, not to take up a table. I arrive after waiting 40 minutes, my food isn’t done. No problem, they’re busy and I was offered water to wait. I waited about 15 minutes and was offered to hold each individual food item as it was done....I had to request that my food was left under the warmers. 10 more minutes passed, I was offered to hold my salads. Had to request that 100% of my order be bagged together vs getting each individual box handed to me. A few more minutes and I am informed that they ran out of the last meal I was waiting for, would I like something else they could begin cooking. However, the rest of my order was done and getting old. I had to request a full refund and left to go find somewhere else to eat. I’m sure the food is great but they really need to get organized for being such a busy...
