So Legend is a tricky one. It's massive, has a good length and has a bunch of great elements. I'm not sure what was going on when I visited but the ride could not give me a consistent ride in the same rows even once. I got about three great rides, but about eight forceless ones. It didn't help that the coaster was having issues with it's chain lift two of the three days I went. So it probably never warmed up correctly. But I'm going to review my three best rides on it. Which I will assume are more so what Legend should deliver on any given day. I rode in the front row, the back row of the second car and the very back of the sixth car. These three rides differed greatly for different reasons. I got great airtime on a hill that had no airtime before. Or I got laterals in the helix that had me basically laying on my friend next to me. Or I got excellent laterals throughout the entire ride and not just two turns before the helix. Whatever the reason is, Legend is one temperamental wooden coaster. I really liked it and I rode it in almost every car once or twice. Some rides had me turning my nose up to the ride thinking," Well, that was boring." However, those three rides all rivaled my twelve or so rides on Raven. The reason I preferred Raven was that it was consistently great. But for Legend the ride couldn't figure itself out and was never giving consistently great laterals or pacing. I'm hoping that next time I visit it will be less bipolar. It was great but needed to stop being selectively sluggish. Luckily the ride did improve the third and final day I was at the park, and the wheels seemed to be rolling with significantly less friction. I got two of my three best rides that last day and only rode it three times that last day. I definitely recommend this coaster. But out of ten I'd rank it an 8/10 when it was running like a tortoise and a 10/10 when it was running like it's...
Read moreThis ride is fairly lengthy for a wooden coaster, and has plenty of speed, airtime, and exhilarating turns. The design is also nifty, taking you by the water park and winding through the forest.
However, it's always been rough, and during our most recent visit, it was rougher than anything I've experienced before. It's probably the roughest wooden coaster I've experienced in my lifetime, and I've ridden a lot of them; it's truly too much to even be enjoyable at this stage.
Not sure if retracking/refurbishment would help — but if so, it needs to be closed and refurbished. Skip it and wait in the line for The Voyage, no matter how much...
Read moreIf you are ok with a coaster being bumpy and rough then there is a good chance you'll love this ride. The lateral forces you'll experience are insane The Legend also having an interesting terrain based layout whizzing by the other rides at the park and having cool hand chopper moments just add to the experience. The only bad thing I can say about the ride is I had to wait the longest in line for it than all the other coasters ..
TLDR; its true its rough but the laterals and layout...
