Happening tonight and tomorrow the Goddess of #Love #Venus is dancing with a Cresent moon.
Venus was the Roman goddess of love, beauty, fertility, sex, victory, prosperity, and desire. She was the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. Venus was also the ancestor of the Roman people through her son Aeneas, a survivor of the fall of Troy who fled to Italy.
Origins: Venus was originally an ancient Italian goddess associated with gardens and cultivated fields. The Romans later identified her with Aphrodite. Both Venus and Aphrodite are thought to have originated from the Mesopotamian goddess of love and battle, Ishtar.
Symbolism: Venus came to symbolize Rome's imperial power.
