Palisades Park of Santa Monica has spectacular ocean and beach views when looking south. Looking out to the left side is the Santa Monica Pier. To the right is the Santa Monica Mountains with Malibu up along the coast. I like to walk along the pathways lined with Mexican Fan palms and Canary Island palms with beautifully manicured landscaping along the way. There’s a calming effect with the sound and look of the blue sea on the shores, and the greenery where I go… The park land on the west side of Ocean Av is uninterrupted from start to finish. Trash containers are throughout the park, helping users keep it clean. Trendy restaurants and hotels line the east side of the street for several blocks, with upscale apartment buildings and condo’ complexes further north. The Oceana Hotel is at about the midpoint, at Idaho St. There’s restrooms available at the north and south ends and in between, across from the Oceana Hotel. Parking is on a first come, first serve basis alongside the park, at that midpoint. There’s also the prepaid metered parking, further down along Ocean Av. at the pier end...

Safety is the biggest failure on their end but apparently instead of addressing that and making a conscientious effort to work on it, they felt that changing the restrooms from being Men/Women to now being ALL GENDERS was the first matter of importance. They removed all sanitary trash cans inside the stalls, as well as the took out all toilet seat covers and now WOMEN have nothing clean or comfortable to use. It's vile. Each stall is filthy, men don't flush, there is no way to comfortably discard tampons unless you wrap them up and walk it out to a trash bin (but how do you when there is no TP.
