Bees N Blooms – A Tranquil Garden Retreat in Sonoma County
Nestled in the heart of Sonoma County, Bees N Blooms is a charming private garden best known for its lush lavender fields and serene natural beauty. Visiting on a Thursday morning, I was greeted by warm sunshine and the gentle scent of blooming flowers—a perfect taste of summer.
Although I arrived toward the end of July, which is past the peak bloom season, there was still enough color and fragrance lingering in the air to make the visit enjoyable. Most of the lavender had already faded, but the remaining blossoms and well-tended garden still offered peaceful views, especially under the bright morning light. The lack of crowds on a weekday made for a quiet, relaxed atmosphere—ideal for a meditative stroll or slow-paced exploration.
That said, if you’re hoping for vibrant fields of lavender and stunning photo opportunities, it’s best to plan your visit during early to mid-summer, when the lavender is in full bloom. That’s when the garden truly comes alive in shades of purple, drawing photographers and flower lovers alike.
Parking is limited, so visiting earlier in the day is advised, especially on weekends or during peak bloom.
Final Thoughts Bees N Blooms offers a peaceful, seasonal escape just minutes from Santa Rosa. While timing is everything to catch the full glory of the lavender fields, even a late-summer visit holds a quiet charm. It’s a wonderful spot to unwind, reconnect with nature, and soak in the soft beauty of Sonoma’s countryside.

Read moreOur nonprofit group spent several days utilizing the Bees N Blooms Corporate Retreat space for our strategic planning meeting. The space was incredible with fantastic natural light and a beautiful view. We used the kitchen space to prepare and serve breakfast and lunch for our group, allowing us to significantly reduce food costs. We had access to more tables than we required, comfortable seating, a new projector, and much more. The surrounding gardens were incredible and we made great use of short breaks to walk through the lavender labyrinth or visit the ducks. I would absolutely recommend this venue and looking forward to the...
Read moreThe location is beautiful, however, the owner Susan is very rude. Apparently asking for clarification about their hours and “online ordering” (which in her words means order something and then you go pick it up “when it’s convenient for her”) Will not be coming back after that extremely rude and condescending chat. Maybe you shouldn’t own a business if someone asking you to clarify your unconventional hours and online ordering process is so upsetting to you. I was not rude at any point during the call and my questions were simple and short, and I was blown away by...
