I've done this hike a few times, and it's beautiful every time. Dress in layers, it can go from windy and cold to sunny and hot from bend to bend and throughout the day. Sun protection! No shade, so wear a hat, bring sunscreen. Dogs are allowed on leash It's a loop trail unless you miss the turn and go all the way to the top, then it becomes an in and out path and goes from 2.5 miles to about 5 miles. There is a steep and narrow portion with stairs, so you'll have to manage crowds and bottlenecks during that part Beautiful views of SF and the...

My best experience in SF. Finding this trail after walking along the Golden Gate northbound. Cross to the other side via the underpass. You will find this trail sign. Fabulous hiking trail that’s well marked, not too extreme and even has some fabulous views over the Golden Gate Bridge! There is also a could of car parks which the trail walks past that have toilets as well.
