I have not been to the Goldmyer Hot Springs because making a reservation was impossible. I called them yesterday and left a message stating that I would like to visit with my family for Mother's Day. I received a call back about 6 hours later from a completely rude and unprofessional gentleman. The first thing he said was that he understood that I wanted to bring children to the hot springs. He said that children tend to leave trash and damage the reservation. After that, everything out of his mouth was him completely trying to get me to NOT come. He read down a list of reasons why I should not make the trip. The long drive, the dirt road, the hours and hours that it would take to get there, how it would be a really long day for my children. He even went as far as to say "So, you really plan on getting up at 4:00am to be here at 9:00am." Really? How is that any of his business what time we get up to take our trip? I have a lot of friends who have gone to Goldmyer. I know all about it. I know about the dirt road, I know how long it takes to get there. I know how long the hike is. My kids and I go hiking every weekend and we have for years. The whole phone conversation with him ,he was literally trying to get me to not come there. My children were excited to go on this tiny adventure but after being on the phone with this rude man for 20 minutes basically trying to prove to him that we were fully capable of making this tiny trip and not ruining the reservation, I finally gave up and said "Ok, I'm going to change my mind. We'll find something else to do for Mother's Day." He very rudely said "GOOD! AND DON'T EVER CALL BACK HERE AGAIN!." I am literally outraged. I have never been spoken to like this before. I can not believe this gentleman works in...

I read the reviews before commenting myself, and seems to be in line with my experience. Attitude. I will say, they were flexible in giving me time to decide if I can make the lottery date, but the woman I spoke to, should probably loosen up.

I am a content creator/marketer as a full time business, I politely asked about the limitations for taking photos, video etc, for my own travel documentation, not business. Her attitude immediately changed, didn't listen to what I was asking. I respect rules, but it seems they care more about rules than a pleasant experience, based on her attitude. I didn't care so much about capturing photos etc as much as I just wanted to relax.

My conversation with this woman did not get me excited to go. Again, drilling down on rules vs explaining basic guidelines for a great experience. Horrible customer service mindset. Horrible.

I wouldn't recommend wasting your time even applying for the permit, as there are so many other options out there, that would be way...

Great experience! Plenty of work to get ther but so worth it! Loved the small groupe size that they allow; it helps maintain the cleanliness and peace of the Springs. Be sure to do your research before going to the Springs. Their calendar may have open slots on certian days however you need to call the office 2 days before at the minimum. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is highly reccomended. Bicycles will make it easier for the last 5 mile hike from the parking to the Springs. Water was nicely hot and they had different levels of heat. The hike instuctions are very simple the only area where I was confused for a min was when you get to an area where the path is coved by a creek, here you need to keep to the left and and go around to follow along the creek. (about the...
