This is one of favorite beaches for sunbathing and walks, especially with dogs that like water. It’s unusually fine sand, as compared to the rocky beaches around here. The first parking lot shares its entrance with the Japanese Exclusion Memorial, which is a worthwhile, beautiful and poignant experience to walk through while here. There is a porta-potty at the parking lot, then a steep trail down to the beach. I believe there is another parking lot closer to the old creosote plant that is a flatter entrance.

Came to beautiful sunny beach to relax two days before giving birth. A wet dog ran at me aggressively barking, and my husband took him by the collar and pushed him off. Instead of calling the dog off or intervening, the owner came over to yell at extremely pregnant me that “THIS IS AN OFF LEASH DOG PARK AND THERE ARE 20 OTHER PARKS YOU CAN GO TO.” So I guess if you want to be yelled at by oblivious locals with untrained pets, this is the beach for you!!!

If you get the chance, I would highly recommend this mini walk, which gives excellent views of the bay! We calculated the route as roughly .25 miles around the entire area, and almost all of it can be walk around the beach. The beach is great, and if you have a dog, it’s a great area to let them off and have them run around and have a little fun!

This is the nicest sand beach on Bainbridge, however it is not private as it sits across from the ferry terminal and waterfront houses, and next to marinas. It is absolutely lovely for sunset and a nice dip. Great to arrive by watercraft if you can (which you can rent or launch from Waterfront Park), and just pull right up on the sandy shore. On 4th of July the beach is full of revelers with campfires, music and games to watch the official Bainbridge fireworks, which are launched directly in front of this beach from a barge. The few hiking trails in the forest are nice...

One of the hidden gems on the island. It shares space with the Japanese Memorial (lower parking area). Pritchard park is in the upper area with a path down to the water. You can park in either area. Port a pottys are only in the parking lot to be prepared to walk back if needed.

The place is serene and lovely. In past years a great place to view fireworks and many take kayaks to launch as well. Great place for kids to play at the waters edge. I have never experienced it...
