Heard whispers that this is a government base for secret operations. Doubt it. Also heard that millions of gallons of untreated water were released into the Sound. That rings true, but I don’t know the facts. The complex certainly gets in the way of north facing views as you come down the trail(s) to the beach. That’s a pity, but a privileged one. Sigh.

If you like water treatment you're going to love this place because it has water treatment. It doesn't have a lot of activities for kids unless they are also into water treatment. Maybe they could add some hands on areas where you get to treat the water yourself while you learn water...
