The area itself has nice trails and is great for seeing wildlife. However, my friend and I were visiting in February to take photos. Upon leaving the park one evening the following events took place. As we approached the parking lot at dusk, we were greeted by a random lady asking us if we caught anything, mind you we had cameras... As we approached the the parking lot, she threatened to shoot us if we got close to her and stated she had her permit. She said there is a lot of transients and I guess was taking it upon herself to deal with them. She then stated she would take us to the police station down the road. Read morePretty cool isolated trail. Like what everyone else said, this trail is in great need of trail markers. I consider myself a semi pro when it comes to trail walking so if I got lost and needed to use google maps to get out i would suggest a first timer to pay a lot of attention which turns they made. This trail has many forks in the road it is very easy to forget which ones you took. Definitely bring a phone with lots of charge. Read moreNice spot for hiking but seriously lacking in signage along the trails- it was really easy to get turned around out there. Thankfully most all trails connect with eachother at some point so you cab find your way out eventually, but it could certainly benefit from some signs or even blazes on the trees along the trail. I really liked the boardwalk portion over the water at the trailhead- beautiful. Could also benefit from a trail cleanup day within the community- might have to put one...
