⛪ Chapel of the Holy Cross – Beautiful, Peaceful & Truly Special
I visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona and absolutely loved it. It’s one of those places that leaves a lasting impression — not just because of how unique it looks, but because of how it feels.
🌄 What I Loved: • Stunning Views: The chapel is built right into the red rocks, and the views from the top are simply breathtaking. You can see Sedona’s famous red rock landscape stretching out in every direction — it’s incredibly peaceful and photogenic. • Spiritual Atmosphere: Inside the chapel, it’s quiet, calm, and filled with natural light. Whether you’re religious or not, there’s something very grounding about the space. I found it peaceful and reflective. • Impressive Architecture: The design of the chapel is simple but powerful. It blends perfectly with the natural surroundings and feels like it truly belongs there.
🅿️ A Few Tips: • Parking: It can be a bit crowded during peak times, but staff members help manage traffic well. Be patient — it’s worth it. • Shuttle Service: If you don’t want to walk up the hill, there’s a free shuttle that takes you right to the entrance. • Short Visit: You don’t need more than 30–45 minutes here, but it’s a must-see if you’re in Sedona.

Read moreI’m in awe of this chapel. One woman was inspired to have this chapel built & she wanted it to be built on this site because it is the site of the Madonna with Child rock formation in front of it, beautiful! My husband is not a big fan of hiking or walking long distances so I did a lot of research on access. Hopefully I can attach a few pics to show the walk to get to the chapel. We got to the gate at 8:30, it opens at 8:45, I had read how backed up it can get & there are only 45 parking spots so this was key to be able to park at the top level, NOT the handicap level but just below it. Now, I will say, it is a bit steep to get to the walkway & the walkway is a bit steep but there was a lady, about 80 y/o, that got off at the handicap area with a cane, her knee popped with each step, she managed to get to the chapel. The location couldn’t be more beautiful, surrounded by & built into the beautiful rocks of the red hills. The inside of the chapel as you walk into it is somewhat simple but as you get to the altar, wow, that took my breath away. The Living Christ crucified on the Living Tree of Life is stunning! There are brochures as you walk into the chapel explaining the creation of the church, etc. There is a gift store downstairs, with a variety of gifts, books, jewelry, etc. It was definitely worth getting there early and being one of the first there with a virtually empty chapel to take pictures not to mention once we were ready to leave, it was a zoo of cars trying to get into the lot & find parking. There is no...
