Gorgeous place for gorgeous views of the Sedona red mountains! Many MANY professional photographers come to this exact location for beautiful photos of the Sedona red mountains. As well as the Jeep tours stop at this over look for the tourists to get pictures. It's also not an overpopulated scenic overlook, so it's not like your going to have to be looking over tons of people to get a photo or wait for people to leave to get a photo. We went on a Holiday weekend when it was crazy in Sedona (literally took us over an hour to drive 4 MILES!! Because of Holiday traffic) and this overlook was still not very busy. It was such a treat to sit there and soak in the fresh air, beautiful scenery, and sunshine.
There is also a trail down into the valley going in the opposite direction from the parking lot, but I have not explored...

Great view, but there might be better spots that are less rugged. I can't imagine the stress if there were more than 3-4 cars in this pullout! Luckily, it was just us and we could take our time avoiding parts that we thought our car couldn't handle.
The view was great! A bit hazy in the...
