Gorgeous place for gorgeous views of the Sedona red mountains! Many MANY professional photographers come to this exact location for beautiful photos of the Sedona red mountains. As well as the Jeep tours stop at this over look for the tourists to get pictures. It's also not an overpopulated scenic overlook, so it's not like your going to have to be looking over tons of people to get a photo or wait for people to leave to get a photo. We went on a Holiday weekend when it was crazy in Sedona (literally took us over an hour to drive 4 MILES!! Because of Holiday traffic) and this overlook was still not very busy. Was just my family and 2 other people there when we went. And as we left, a Jeep tour was pulling in with 6 people. It's a big enough overlook to accommodate quite a few people without getting in anyone's way or pictures. Usually only a couple people there at a time...well I should say a couple vehicles...not people. Very beautiful place to capture amazing views and memories by yourself or with...

The trail to the west ends on top of a solid rock plateau about a quarter to a third of a mile from the parking lot. This spot has some gorgeous views down into a valley and Oak Creek, then sweeps up the other side to some of the spectacular red rock pentacles that Sedona is known for. It is a great spot to sit down and soak in the sun and the view. I am somewhat mobility handicapped, but with a trekking pole and a bit of aid from one other person, I was able to enjoy the adventure. That person also packed a compact camping chair in for me. It was such a treat to sit there and soak in the fresh air, beautiful scenery, and sunshine.

There is also a trail down into the valley going in the opposite direction from the parking lot, but I have not explored...

Don't stop here if you are in a car, or a vehicle that can't handle driving over rocks and bumps! We were in an SUV and had moments of slight panic just due to the layout and the terrain. Great view, but there might be better spots that are less rugged. I can't imagine the stress if there were more than 3-4 cars in this pullout! Luckily, it was just us and we could take our time avoiding parts that we thought our car couldn't handle.

The view was great! A bit hazy in the...

Amazing views of the cliffs at sunset. Easy to access but the parking is not great. There are a couple spots that are suitable for a car, the rest are more rugged. Not busy at all and you can easily get the shot you want. Worth a stop if you’re in the area, especially at sunset.
