Great views of parts of Sedona without too much work. The parking is kind of confusing, it seems to be on the grounds of a public school, but there are a lot of signs saying no trail parking, etc. We went around sunset time when there weren't too many other cars, so it wasn't a big deal, but the parking situation there seemed a bit confusing. The trail itself takes you 400 feet steeply up the side of a broad, flat "mountain" top. From there, you can pretty much wander wherever you want, there are views in all directions. Prominently seen are Cathedral Rock and Capitol Butte (Thunder Mountain). Trail is about 1.4 miles from the...

Bring appropriate shoes! Scorpion trail was just difficult enough to make the hike fun when not enjoying the views of Sedona and Red Rock Country. Pyramid was my favorite trail, but it is a more rugged section. Pyramid had better views but requires a higher degree of mobility to navigate. For those interested in wildlife the earlier the better. I did not see any wildlife on Pyramid that I didn't see...

Flying with flyapexair.com I fly around all of Sedona on a daily basis and during sunset the lighting on the rocks turns them bright crimson colors. Schuerman Mountain Vista is one of the absolute best vantage points to enjoy the beautiful lighting on the rocks. Only 1.1 miles or 1.6 km so it's a relatively short hike taking only 30 minutes at a nice slow pace for most hikers. I highly...

Took Schuerman lookout trail. Nice out and back with great views (especially at the end). Not very technical or long, just some uphill. Partial shade spots along the way to get a little sun relief. Wasn’t very crowded which was a nice change from other popular Sedona spots.

Right behind the high school. You don’t have to go all the way up to get breathtaking views. Parking is a problem but people don’t stay long (1-2 hours). Difficult in some places because of the rocks and steepness but it’s all on foot. No rock climbing or parkour needed.
