Took in the view for sunrise and it was a solid option. Being a Saturday morning we were concerned about the number of people at Airport Mesa so we opted for this location. The parking lot is smallish (around 10-15 parking spots) but was nearly empty when we arrived 45 minutes before sunrise. When the sun finally came up we shared the peak with about six other people.
The hike to the top is relatively easy and pretty short, it made for a quick approach. All in all it was a good second option for sunrise (behind Airport Mesa). Read moreSugarloaf Mountain is an amazing view spot that is easily accessible by many hiking trails in West Sedona. You have awesome views of Coffee Pot, Thunder Mountain, Chimney Rock, Devils Kitchen Sink Hole, Brins Mesa, Soldiers Pass and the whole Sedona area. Do a YouTube search for it in Sedona and watch some cool videos. If you have an hour and wish to enjoy some fantastic desert scenery, I highly recommend a hike up...
