Took in the view for sunrise and it was a solid option. Being a Saturday morning we were concerned about the number of people at Airport Mesa so we opted for this location. The parking lot is smallish (around 10-15 parking spots) but was nearly empty when we arrived 45 minutes before sunrise. When the sun finally came up we shared the peak with about six other people. The hike to the top is relatively easy and pretty short, it made for a quick approach. All in all it was a good second option for sunrise (behind Airport Mesa). You can get a pretty good view and sense of scale from the peak, however some of the formations to the south are obscured behind Airport Mesa. Aside from this we were really pleased with the location, accessibility as it's basically in town, the trailhead and parking lot is in a neighborhood. Definitely a good option if you are trying to avoid mobs or people.

I visited in mid-July to view the sunrise. There are about 12 parking spaces, but only 1 or 2 other cars when I arrived at about 5am. It's possible people stayed away because this week has been unusually hot. However in the morning, the 70 degree temperature was fantastic. It is a short hike to the top (about 20 minutes), and at the summit there is a 360 degree view of the surrounding red rock structures. It's worth coming for the views if you are in the area (because to be honest, Sedona has many amazing views to experience).

Beautiful views on an easy trail. Our 7 year old loved it. Not a lot of shade so go in cooler weather. The views are beautiful. Many trails link up around here. Good view of teapot rock. Very clean trail. Not too highly trafficked and parking was easy for us, unlike many other trails in Sedona. It was a nice trail.

Sugarloaf Mountain is an amazing view spot that is easily accessible by many hiking trails in West Sedona. You have awesome views of Coffee Pot, Thunder Mountain, Chimney Rock, Devils Kitchen Sink Hole, Brins Mesa, Soldiers Pass and the whole Sedona area. Round trip is a leisurely 60 minutes from the dirt parking at the top of Little Elf Drive. The hike climbs several hundred feet in elevation, so is an upper beginner level jaunt. Do a YouTube search for it in Sedona and watch some cool videos. If you have an hour and wish to enjoy some fantastic desert scenery, I highly recommend a hike up...
