We were almost giving up on Selma but went to see Sturdivant Hall as a last ‘chance’. WOW!! This is a treat for anyone interested in history of the area. If you are lucky, you will be greeted by Mrs Mitsy Wilburn! She was another treat ! She initially told us the tour may last one hour plus upfront explanations. Well, you are in for a treat if you like to listen to everything you see in the house, ask questions and you will be rewarded. We enjoyed the time with Mrs Wilburn as our guide tremendously! BTW: ask her (Mrs Wilburn) for other things to see, go to or...

It is thought-provoking to see that lavish opulence came at the expense of injustice for the...

We received an excellent tour from Margaret who brought the place to life and was extremely knowledgeable about the house and the area. As ever with Alabama, we immediately felt welcomed and connected to the history of this...
