Southbridge Community Dog Park — Attraction in Shakopee

The dog park is awesome!!

It has 2 areas. One small fenced in area for 25lb dogs and under right off the parking lot.

The other is attached through a double gate that is an off leash area with tons and tons of space!

In the far left back corner is a wide open space (you can see it from 169 going north)

That's where a lot of people and dogs like to hang out.

There are some trails throughout the area that are wooded and really nice to walk through.

NOTE-IN THE SUMMER THERE ARE TONS OF TICKS. but that is to be expected given the area we're in.

If you're not interested in the park itself, there is a mile long walking path around the entire thing that is really nice too! Careful though, the path is pretty icy during the winter where the sun doesn't make direct contact.

All in all there are a couple of NOT so friendly dogs that owners still bring to the park, so be mindful of the interactions with some other dogs, just in case.

Fabulous dog park with nice natural (and medium width) paths approx 0.9 mile walk around the perimeter. Paved patking lot, Water/drinking fountain outside of gate. PortaPotty on site. Double gated entry/exit. Small dog area with picnic table, grass and small pebble paths. (Does not appear to be shade at the little dog area) All access park area has mix of fields and forest with various paths throughout. Paths are nice size and seem well maintained. At least 4 picnic tables throughout the park. Sun and shaded areas. Did not see any ponds or mud puddles but one area looks like its prone to flooding (the only path with wood chips). Nice dog park, fully fenced. They have a separate secluded area for smaller pets. They have a few smaller trails that run through a small patch of woods but slightly lack on grounds maintenance. The grass can get quite long in the open field area and that area is primarily sand/soil mix and the trails are not quite fully packed down so it it has recently rained it's a good possibility you'll be giving your dog a bath 😆.
