A wonderful place to gain a perspective on the last two hundred years of Minnesota history. Authentic homesteads from various Minnesota communities have been moved here and placed in their historical environments. In season and post-COVID, one can walk through time from early German settlers through late 19th century English influence with guides dressed in period-appropriate clothing and retelling their story of hardships of their time. Read moreAMAZING. I've lived here my whole life, and came here as a kid. But never remembered it being so serene and incredible. Walking the paths and taking my time through the town killed almost 2.5 hours! I appreciated the informational plaques as I used this as an excuse to remind me of how great we have it today. I love the idea behind this and I wish there was more funding to make it "alive". I will come here more often especially as the leaves turn.

Read moreWe held our family reunion at the Landing park in Shakopee for about 90 people in August. All my relatives had a wonderful time. This beautiful venue is on the Minnesota River. The large Pavilion kept everyone cool in the heat. Lots of interesting historical buildings on-site to see. The restroom was very clean. Paula was our coordinator and extremely helpful. Everything went smoothly. We also want to thank Alex who helped us the day of the event. It was inexpensive to rent the Pavilion and nearby building for the whole day. Included were setup of tables and chairs. What a time saver! We will host our next family...
