Great park with deep history spanning possibly a thousand years. This park contains a natural hot spring where trumpeter swans gather in the winter. Ducks also gather here in the winter. Native Americans had lived here for generations and used the hot spring for birthing. On the other side of the park are burial mounds. Many generations were born in this location and died in the same area, even though throughout the year they would move around to either follow herds or to gather roots and berries and plants. Check this place out it is extremely special and honestly the city should step up and stop dumping street waste into this gem. The city of Shakopee is not cleaning this place up with garbage and has diverted street water into this at one time perfect gem. The city of Shakopee should actually be shamed that they treat this historical imperative mecca for certain first nations.

My son saw baby goats off the the side of the road on the way to preschool and asked if we could stop there on our way home, so i said sure. We did and I'm so glad! The park is huge and historic as well with the POW memorial and the native American burial grounds. Another guest there told us that the goats are brought in to take care of the burial grounds and keep them untouched by man. I'm not sure if that's true, but it's a really interesting concept. There's a large playground as well and plenty of low trafficked asphalt to practice skateboarding on...i only know this because after the baby goats we had to pull out the skateboard and practice for 30mn...!

Really nice park on the banks of the Minnesota River, just out of downtown Shakopee. There was plenty of parking spaces when I went on a nice Wednesday evening. Some of the trails that go over the bridge were closed due to high River levels. They have plenty of miles of hiking along the river with beautiful views. Lots of bird species. They also have Native American burial mounds here.

Given myself credit where credit is due. Because I never give myself any. Someone very special used to to tell me. You are amazing. It’s hard to think I am. When she’s not around to remind me. I feel less the average. She always asked me. “Who are you”. Like she didn’t know. Like she’s testing me. She always got the same answer. “I’m Mike”. I can only be me. Why would anyone want to be someone else. Maybe because she was so many. Maybe because she needs someone real , honest. She always loved my perspectives. Non of it matters now. I learned you can’t change someones mind. But if you change there perspective. You can change there life. Solemates return. She hasn’t come back. I’ve lost hope. Nobody could convince me that she wouldn’t return. But now. I’m starting to change my own perspective. I thought I would never give up on her. I don’t think she did either. This is for her. I’ll give myself 5 stars. Because she would tell me I’m worth more than that. She was to. She was worth all the stars in the sky. My sunshine every morning. Now my days are grey at best. Hopefully. The storm before the calm. Trust me. That makes a lot of sense. Just like going through hell to get to heaven. Perspective. Remember. If it was meant to be. Your not going to miss it. I believe that. Our time is short. I ask believe we waste to much. She better hurry. The...

Date of Visit: 10/4/2018 approx. 6PM - Nice park with a convenient location! Fairly flat paved walking trails, a playground with swings, restrooms, picnic shelters, and plenty of flat green space for lawn activities. We saw someone rollerblading on the trails. At the time of our visit, we were one of three groups of people in the park - less than 10 individuals total, so it was fairly private. I would assume it would be busier in the summertime with kids playing. We were slightly disappointed as a bridge appeared to be missing, as we couldn't get from one trail to another on the opposite side of a body of water. Thoroughly enjoyed the big beautiful trees that had leaves...
