Last night we went to go watch a movie. I enjoyed the theatre experience more from previous years. One of the first issues was with the popcorn. On Tuesdays, you get this little box of popcorn complimentary with the ticket. The process now falls on the customer which isn’t a big deal but the process is inconvenient and messy. It used to be that this was done before hand creating an easier and better experience for the customer. The next thing we noticed was the heat in the theater. It was so hot that everything felt sticky and gross. The theater should have better air conditioning. It was a packed movie and it felt extremely stuffy. Of course, last time we went was in the winter and then they were having an issue of the opposite. The theater was cold so to some heating issue. These are very basic expectations of any public place really. The next thing we noticed was a very slippery floor when we sat down. It felt buttery and is if it wasn’t cleaned properly. The last thing my family took issue with was the excessively long advertisement about the theatre concessions! It is really long and actually pretty annoying. It took away from the experience over all. I am more than capable of visiting the concessions and seeing what is available or new for myself. Prior to a movie I’d rather just see previews to what movies are to come. The Shawano Cinema is seeming more and more outdated. There has been cosmetic fixes but there are more important issues like breaking chairs, lack of heating/cooling, dirty conditions, and theaters themselves are outdated from the screens to the chairs. Would love to see more important issues being taken care of. Appleton and Green Bay cinemas are seemingly looking better and better...
Read moreTheater 3 had a terrible moldy urine smell to it. Everything in the theater seemed sticky and moist. Cringed and felt dirty the whole movie. I barely wanted to sit down after walking into that smell. We were a group of 9 (6 being young kids) so the adults suffered thru the smell. If not for the kids being hyped up and the 20 minute drive we would have left amd the and asked for our money back. Popcorn was stale. Rootbeer tasted funny. Staff wasn't great. Used to enjoy the Theater. Accepted the older feel for the cheaper pricing. Pricing and combos were changed. We accepted the price hike but can no longer grasp the price hike with the lack of care and improvement the theater has gotten since the price hike. We will gladly pay 10% more for clean air, reclining seats and fresh popcorn creating a positive experience versus coming back to...
Read moreThere are better theaters, I'd rate this one as typical. The screen is marked up, and I have no idea what it is, but it does disrupt the movie experience. Sound quality was as expected. Setting, once again, was typical. The assortment of soda and candy is as expected. They are, if I understood, recently under new management. Perhaps these issues will be addressed? As for the better theaters? They serve food while you wait for the movie to begin! Yes. Food. Not just popcorn or candy. Have "lazeboy" type recliners and a whole counter before you to set your food and drink. All at the same cost you'd expect from a restaurant. So no. This theater wasn't bad. It was the middle...
