Whitney Center for the Arts — Attraction in Sheridan

An ambitious idea, to have a proper concert space. But the Powers That Be compromised on seat quality. Very hard seats. Not enough rise between rows. You end up looking at another's head. The balcony offers the best viewing but is rarely open. Overall, a frustrating experience, and sure to inflame your sciatica....

Many fine performances have happened here. The Sheridan College Symphony Band and Symphony perform all the time. Jazz, Lectures, and anything important happens here. Many art exhibits come through. It's definitely a little "pocket of hip" for Sheridan, as the Band Professor says. Very worthwhile...

This is a modern venue, with unobstructed views regardless of where you sit. Not too big, and not too small. The acoustics seem to be balanced...
