Terrible service. I ordered online at 5:06pm with a 5:30 pickup time. When I arrived at the restaurant they were really busy with take out orders (Mother's Day) so I waited with everyone else. After 45 minutes of waiting I asked if they had my order. She couldn't find a ticket for it, but then did find that she had my online order and said she must have forgot to put it in. She asked if I still wanted it, and I said yes. She said it would be 25-30 minutes. After another 40 minutes my food was ready. I asked if I would get a discount for waiting almost an hour and a half for food when it was her mistake and she scoffed at the idea, saying that they were busy. Got home with the food and it was cold and the order was missing salads.
I've worked in the service industry and in a restaurant before. It would have been simple for her to just apologize for her mistake, take ownership of that and offer some sort of discount for making me wait.
We have dined in many times and ordered take out many times and multiple times the person working the hostess station has been either indifferent or just plain rude. There are plenty of other restaurants in town that are happy to have customers and provide better service, so I won't spend my money any more and a restaurant that doesn't want...
Read moreWe were here for a team dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We both ordered Hibachi Fillet Migon and Shrimp which was cooked to perfection. This was our first time at Sapporo's in Sheridan and did not expect much, given the size of the town. Surprisingly, this Japanese steakhouse rates with the best (Benihana, etc). Sapporos menu is more than Hibachi grill. They have many other meals as well as sushi.
COMPARISON -Salad (Sapporo salad is only iceberg lettuce; Benihana is the same with the addition of tomato, raddicio and carrots) -Soup (mostly equal although Benihana is slightly better with more mushrooms) -Grilled vegetables included with meal (greater variety than Benihana which only includes onions, zucchini and mushrooms) -Sauces (We didn't care for the Yum Yum sauce and prefer either of Benihana's 2 sauces) -Skill of Chef (Maybe we have been to Benihana too many times but we found the chef at Sapporo to be more entertaining and highly skilled) -Overall value: (Sapporo wins overall with prices significantly less AND they include Fried rice with the meal while Benihana...
Read moreIt was pretty busy when we came in, but we didn't have to wait. Like some other people said, you do kind of get ignored if you're not at the hibachi or sushi bar. We got seated in a corner booth and had to flag down a waiter to take our order after seeing some people who came in after us get served before we did. Not a big deal. Very typical dimly-lit Japanese-restaurant atmosphere that strikes you as overcompensatory, but that's most Japanese restaurants I've been to. We got the Sashimi Combo, which came with 3 pieces of tuna, 3 salmon, 2 white tuna, and 2 yellowtail. It also came with a bowl of white rice, not sushi rice like I'd expected. The fish tasted fresh, but the cuts were a bit chewy. White tuna usually melts in your mouth; here I could feel the stringy bits getting caught in my teeth. The tuna was very bland, didn't taste like tuna, more like red unflavored jello. Probably get sushi rolls or stick to the hibachi grill if you come here. Lots of clanging sounds and excited shouts from...
