This railroad museum has a fantastic toy train set up for kids to watch. I have come to this every year I could since it opened and each time they have improved upon it. You get to ride on a train ride, watch a movie, see the an older train (even ring the bell) visit a round house. Overall a great place to visit for a morning or afternoon with or without kids. My mother bought a pass and brings her grandkids here all the time. They never gets bored, especially with the toy train building. The wonder my 2 year old boy had watching all the trains go by is a memory I won't forget.

What a great hidden gem in the city that most people whine there is nothing to do. Lots of local history and some cool things to see. The model train room was my personal favorite. We held a wedding there. TJ helped our planning party out and spent countless hours helping get ready. Great venue for a party and thr museum is an added bonus for you guests.

The Sioux City Railroad Museum was a fun experience. Enthusiastic volunteers were eager to share the history of the place, and provide helpful advise for exploring the area. The history of the location was fascinating, and enjoyable. Huge trains from an era long gone, where you could go inside each train car and see what things looked like, and imagine what life was like back in the old days. Children love the place too, plenty to see and explore. They have a small holocaust exhibit there as well, that shares some of the history of people who survived it, and settled in the Sioux City area. Insightful and a great experience. I would highly...

Great place to learn about the history of railroads in the Sioux City area. Some nicely restored old cars and a beautifully restored steam engine. There is an informative video about the history of the maintenance yard where it is located and a very knowledgeable staff

The roundhouse and working turntable were very impressive. A pleasant surprise was the large and expertly detailed multi gauge operating model railroad display.

Really glad that we...
