Definitely skip this site. Leave it for the locals. You'll hate the breathtakingly beautiful falls, you'll be shushed into quiet reverence by the thundering water and you will be forced into a meditative reflection if you bother to hike on the well-maintained paths. Yes, absolutely, skip this sacred site and leave it to the locals. Don't waste your time trying to visit, you'll just end up falling in love with the area. Definitely don't use the ramp access to safely traverse down to the viewpoint. Able bodies surely won't enjoy hiking down to the pristine, roiling, turquoise pools below the falls. The water is too cold, too clear and too fast to truly enjoy. The views above the falls are equally disappointing; you're sure to leave with a soul experience. You might even understand why the first nations inhabiting the area found the falls to be sacred and meaningful. Be careful, or you will experience the wild majesty that has enthralled people for hundreds of years! Ugh, forgot to address the humidity of the area. When you step into the shade of the trees, you will instantly leave behind the dry, scorching heat reflected off the pavement. You'll be transported against your will into a humid, lush, jungle-like environment. The temperature easily drops 10 to 15°. Like no one even asked for that!

Koosah and Sahalie Falls Trail had two bonus waterfalls on the hike. We decided not to do the loop and turned around when we saw Koosah Falls. Both Sahalie and Koosah Falls had a rainbow in the water droplets that surrounded the waterfalls. If you have seen the movie, Into The Wild, you might know that Sahalie Falls made a cameo in it. This hike was easy to moderate due to all the stairs. Because of the stairs, this hike is not ADA accessible. I would recommend going to the trails edge a few times to check out the river because that's when we saw one 3 tiered waterfall and then a wide waterfall. Vault toilets at the trailhead, free hike, and small parking lot.

Easily accessible from Rt 126, there is a small parking lot complete with restrooms. The trail head starts here. Near the parking lot is Sahalie Falls. You will hear the rush water way before seeing the roaring cascade. The trail will lead you to Koosah falls a total 2.6 mile round-trip hike. The waters below are roaring as you go deeper into the forest. The trail is well maintained and has many vista points along the way. Bring water and bug spray...
