It's a nice little stopping point on a big trip. You can either get out and get a gander of the falls near the parking lot or you can continue down the trail to see Koosah Falls and even the reservoir. If you're feeling really adventurous, you can continue past the reservoir and you'll eventually arrive at Tamolitch Pool. The trail, although sloped, isn't terribly difficult. Some may struggle, however. The water is crystal clear and the falls, river, and streams are beautiful. When you get to the reservoir, you'll notice the bright blue hue that the water exhibits which is so characteristic of Tamolitch Pool. If you plan to go to Tamolitch Pool, I suggest using the Tamolitch Trailhead instead of taking this trail simply because it feels much longer than you would expect, unless you plan to bike it. The trails are well-maintained as it is a pretty...
Read moreYou drive deep into the Willamette National Forest. The views out are beautiful with mossy banks of ferns and wooded firs. At one point you can see a snowy peek as you climb up above 2,000 ft. After some camp grounds the terrain starts to look more volcanic with rocks and red dust on either side. Once you get to the falls the temp. drops. There is a paved footpath w/stairs and wheelchair access as well. The bifurcated falls mists onto your face as you look at the heavy water barreling over the top about 50 yards away. There is a small dirt trail that leads to a lookout at the top of the falls. The parking area had room for rvs and cars. There are bathrooms and trashcans. It’s not suitable for swimming but its a beautiful spot to stretch your legs after a long drive or hike through on the...
Read moreBEAUTIFUL falls, the first of technically 3 on a trail that leads down to Tamolitch Falls (Blue Pool). Right when you start the hike from the parking lot, you run into this massive, gorgeous sheet waterfall that flows down into the river. You can go off trail and get beautiful pictures (like the one I have attached) right next to the waterfall - it’s VERY cold and you will definitely get wet going next to it from all the mist of the fall! Nicely paved paths and even the off trails are heavily walked so you can go off closer to the river. A lot of neat spots to sit and fish or swim as well. If staying on the main trail it is very kid friendly! A lot of people when I went but still was able to enjoy space away from everyone and quietly view my surroundings. short hike to Koosah falls,...
