I’m someone that comes to this rink almost EVERY WEEK. Let me tell you why I rate this establishment 1 star. (yet still come)

The service is okay, they definitely keep everything clean and maintained. It goes downhill when you realize that the rink always has some sort of dangerous crack in it and there’s ALWAYS kids skating the opposite direction. They do nothing about it other than just tell them to stop over the intercom (they don’t).

They never play their music loud. The entire time you’re there, it’s just sounded out by the screaming and talking. They THINK they play it loud because all of the speakers is mainly right next to the workers in the front. On the skate floor you hear almost nothing. As opposed to other rinks where it’s blasting (at an enjoyable volume).

Their music playlist is from the 2000’s. That sounds amazing until you’re skating and corny songs your grandmother would listen to is playing all while 70% of their money comes from children & teenagers. It’s like they refuse to update their playlist. I personally blast music in my own headphones because of how bad their playlist (that goes on repeat every visit) is.

If another rink were to be built in Slidell, this one would go out of business in a heartbeat. They don’t try to cater to the younger audience at all. They attempt to maintain their legacy of being a very old rink but instead it just feels like I’m visiting a Mall/Hospital vibe play area with how light it is and how bad & low the music plays/is.

I only go here because it’s the only one near me. Did I mention the manager & owner smoke right outside the rink’s door for the kids and adults to...

So I’m trying to figure out how it is ok for skaters with no skating experience can be on dollar skates and push around the PVC pipe skaters assistance yet a child in a wheel chair can not be pushed around the skating rink by someone with no skates. Especially when it was allowed for years before. All the sudden now this can’t be done? I have a child in skate class at a skating rink and the instructor told us the first day of class that those pvc pipe skate assisters are the most dangerous way to learn how to skate. And that falls occur more often on those then skaters brave enough to go out with out one. Weather or not that was just his opinion i for one think it is ridiculous that your staff wouldn’t let this child be pushed around in her wheel chair. Apparently it has to do with insurance? I doubt that especially since all the years before it was allowed. This business should be ashamed of its self. It is the most appalling and disgusting thing I have ever heard of. Embarrassing a family and denying them service. Shame on you. I grew up going to this skating rink and am so disappointed in the way they have come to treat their customers! I will never do business here ever again and will make sure to tell anyone and everyone I know!

I’m response to the owner response then why allow it to occur in the past? Or why not allow them to wear skates. Just seems like it was someone being a complete jerk. Doesn’t change my opinion of this establishment...

I go here every week w/ my friend who also left a review. It’s awful here.

I’m friends with current/past staff and they nearly all say the same thing: the pay is awful & they don’t get paid enough to do some things (you’d think they do).

A major complaint of everyone I know that goes here would be their music. They must only accommodate toward people in their 30s-50s because the songs are all from that generation’s timeframe. When they do happen to take a song request from a teenager, the entire rink is singing that song or they’re all happy. Then it goes back to their own and everyone is just back to listening to their own music in their headphones/airpods. They do have rare gems they play from the 2000s that are always a hit, but that covers 5% of the entire night’s songs.

Just like my friend said, their music is always SO. LOW. When I first started coming here nearly 2 years ago, they actually played it pretty loud. To where it was loud on the skate floor and you had to do the classic ā€œraising of your voiceā€ to talk to people. Now, it’s like a distant speaker you have to closely listen for to enjoy anything on the skate floor (mind you, you’re still listening for 1990s songs šŸ˜‘).

My thoughts on this rink would immediately go up if they got a new playlist, the music sets the tone. Why am I feeling like I’m at a nursing home while...

Skating under the lights at the rink just makes me smile! What’s the last song y’all’s rink plays to close a session? Skater’s Paradise in Slidell, LA, plays ā€œClosing Timeā€ by Semisonic. Makes my Gen X heart fullšŸ„°āœØšŸ›¼ I love skating in different places and tend to skate alone. But I leave myself open to experience and always meet such awesome people. Last night was no exception. A sweet third-grader asked me how to get a boy at school to be her boyfriend🄺, and we had a fun chat while I laced up. Turns out, she thinks they might be better being friends✨ because she realized she’s a really good friend to others and just wants to have fun. Nearly 6 months ago I decided to come to this skate rink for the first time ever and since then I’ve been coming here at least twice a week. The floor is pretty good, it has a good grip and not slippery. Two minor cracks but you go over them like they’re not even there. I can’t give an opinion on their skates because I have my own but the skate rink itself it’s a large rectangle. I love it because it allows me to go in a straight line, do a wide u-turn crossovers, and go back in a straight line building up speeds close to 20mph. Never had any issues with the staff. They have been nice every time I walk in and out. They have a lot of arcade games that you can play while you take a break from skating or if you came to watch instead of skating. Like Airhockey.
