Sheldon Cooper Train Enthusiasts: This is your jam! The location at 9312 Stone Quarry Road is both a Depot as well as a Museum. ONE of the train routes takes passengers on a journey through the beautiful green, mossy northwest forest over Kimball Creek, above the Snoqualmie Falls & the hydroelectric plant. On the return run; through the fun, unique & quaint downtown Snoqualmie area including a tour of some of the Twin Peaks TV series filming locations.
There are several other tours available as well, including a VERY POPULAR WINE TOUR.
A craft beer tour featuring products made from locally grown hops is in the works. 👍
Some of the individuals who helped to make my day at the Depot/Museum possible were:
Elizabeth Rudrud - Volunteer Events Coordinator, Rob Shreve - Hospitality Car Attendant.
Geoff Ingle - Restoration Specialist & Expert Clementine Cake Baker. He shared a slice of his tasty Clementine Cake with me. It made me think of the Ben Stiller movie, 'Walter Mitty'. Loved it!
Geoff works in the train museum where he explains in great detail, the types of engines, cars & equipment on display. Geoff worked on one of the engines, painstakingly involved in a two year project painting the engine & bringing it back to it's illustrious glory. Mission accomplished!
