My wife and I traveled to the Pickens County area of South Carolina to do some hiking. One trail we wanted to hike was the Carrick Creek Falls in the Table Rock Mountain State Park.

Note: you have to sign in at the Nature Center in order to do this hike. And it does cost to get into the state park. It's $6 a person unless you are a senior citizen.

The trail starts on a paved pathway. This pathway splits into trails a short distance from the Nature Center. The green marked trail is the Carrick Creek trail. Since it's a loop trail you can go either right or left. I suggest going left going live gets the harder part of the trail walk over first. It's a lot more scenic too. This makes the walk back to the Nature Center less strenuous. Just a suggestion.

You'll see several waterfalls and cascades along the way. It is a well marked trail and I give it a good moderate rating in difficulty. It took us an hour + to do the entire loop, which included stops along the way to enjoy the beauty of the hike. We had a beautiful day...

This is a great place for a trek. Make sure to have $5 cash for the entrance fees if you come during peak hours. It's a mild trek, you wanna dress up depending on the temperature of the day. I rarely ever trek or hike and I still enjoyed it thoroughly. Great for a group activity or even a get away if you come later in the day when there's hardly anyone else around. We went on a cold December day and needed a jacket at most but I imagine it must be quite humid/hot in the summer months. The views of the tall trees and running water are splendid and very soothing. Must try if you are...

We did the carrick creek trail in table rock state park. It costs 6 dollars per person to enter the park. We got the park map at the entrance. We parked near nature center and the walked around lake area. we then registered for the trail at the nature center. It was moderate intensity in some places. Took us around 1.5 hours. Enjoyed the trail. There were other tiny water falls and streams along the way that made it even more enjoyable. If you just want to see waterfall, you can just turn around and get back but the trail is nice if you...
