This review was supposed to go to the state park. Somehow it posted wrong. The pier was closed while we were there for repairs, but you could still go under, which I recommend for some beautiful pictures. We stayed at the campsite for my daughter's birthday. On the plus side:. So close to the beach, with plenty of trails so you can walk right over. The staff in the gift shop are so sweet and helpful. The campground is beautiful and clean. So are the bathrooms which is a definite plus. It's a great site to get away for a weekend. On the con side, the campsites are tiny and really close together. Our neighbor coughed and it sounded like he was in our tent. The roads are one way, so if it's dark and you miss your turn, you have to circle the campground and try again (ask my husband how we know that). The pier was closed for repairs while we were there but that didn't detract from our trip. It makes sense to do repairs in the off season, just a warning to others. All in all, we will come back. Small sites don't bother me too much when were only...

We had an enjoyable stay at Myrtle Beach State Park. We camped in Loop 5 which had larger full hook up sites (as did Loop 6). The other loops had smaller sites plus sites without full hook ups. Our campsite was nested in the grove which kept us under the canopy and provided a more private campsite. It was a short walk to the campground store, the beach, and the pier. We arrived during the week and the raccoons were very brazen but they became less noticeable when the weekend crowds and activities started. Being here during week two of bike week, we heard a lot of motorcycle traffic on Rt 17. The campground was also in the flight path for the airport so the planes were quite loud at times. The park was very clean and the staff were friendly. Definitely a place we’d visit again.

If interested, walk the beach north to the first pier for daily 11:00-17:00 hours happy hour. You can also get your beverages to go for the beach.

When we were arrived, they were enforcing the 14:00 hours check in time. We arrived at 13:00 hours and had to leave...
