I'm from the subs of Chicago. I came to the area for their trail but it was closed. (Kal-haven trailhead, wooden) I ate at a local joint called Groovy Grove and then headed for the shores. South Haven atmosphere did not disappoint as I just came back from Cape Cod. Clear sands and lukewarm lake water - it was semi-busy on a Thursday evening as the season is wrapping up. Plenty of parking though. The red lighthouse pier had plenty of bystanders sitting and taking selfies in front of the on setting sun. This was a pleasantry I wish I could live near and see every night..

Slow down one of these nights here on the beach and enjoy the show of nature.
