Parking is always a struggle at North Beach. Especially during the holiday seasons along with peak visitation hours in summer. We rarely park at North Beach as we know it's always packed. That being said, the beach itself is as wonderful as it always has been. Nice and clean and open enough for lots of individuals to get in their sunbathing. Lake Michigan itself is truly beautiful and taking the time to find parking usually ends up being worth the hassle. The other nice thing about this particular location is the ice cream provided by Ludington's own House of Flavors. The old school feel is certainly nostalgic. It would be nice if the city looked at eventually putting in a bathroom on each end of the North Beach location, particularly on each end of the large parking lot. For elderly and young children, the trek to the bathroom is cumbersome to say the least. Overall, park here if you've got no other option as you have access to a restroom, ice cream and if course...

We had a blast here! The water was a bit chilly at 67°, but we were prepared for that. Wet suits make that cold Lake Michigan water feel just like a warm bath! We had a blast bobbing around in the waves! If you dont come prepared for cold water, dont expect to do a lot of swimming. For those who aren't huge on swimming, the pier is well kept, it's nice to wander around out there for a while. The beach was reasonably clean, a light scattering of trash is unsightly, but to be expected unfortunately. There are bathrooms at one end of the beach (like most beach bathrooms, they have no paper towels, and are constantly a bit sandy and gross, but better than nothing), located in a concession building. They offer burgers, brats, and other typical beach food. There is also a sand shower outside the bathrooms, which is really nice. Nobody likes to get in their car covered in sand. Definitely a fun...

North Beach in South Haven, MI is a beautiful, laid-back gem on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Known for its wide sandy beach, gentle waves, and easygoing vibe, it’s a favorite for families and locals alike. The beach offers great views of the historic South Haven Lighthouse and the nearby pier, especially at sunset when the sky lights up with vibrant colors. There’s a peaceful charm here — a little quieter than South Beach, but just as scenic and relaxing. Amenities like clean restrooms, food stands, and a boardwalk make it convenient, while the shallow water near shore makes it perfect for swimming and wading. Parking is close and accessible, and it’s a short walk to the sand. Whether you’re looking to swim, sunbathe, take a stroll, or just listen to the waves, North Beach delivers a classic Lake Michigan experience full of charm...

My two younger kids and my husband and I went last weekend- even though the water was unseasonably cold, we still got in the water and had a blast! We made sand castles, dug holes and tried to burry my son in the sand like u see on tv lol…. We played on the playground equipment, walked the Peir and finished our day/ evening off with a bite to eat and the delicious ice cream at the little stand that had been there since I was a child! Wonderful memories, and I had a blast making new memories!!!! Parking was a bit tricky because it is always so crowded- but after circling 2X we found a great space right at the sand/ beach! Parking was $10 for the day, I’m happy to pay $10 to have a great close space…. I really can not say anything bad about N Beach, S Haven ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful beach in a beautiful town. Friday was my first time at the North Beach and me and my granddaughter had a wonderful time. The water was cool which is to be expected for Lake Michigan in May, but it felt pretty good after playing in the hot sun for awhile. The sand and water was clean and the light color sand is nice because it doesn't get too hot like others. The bathroom was clean. I didn't stay for a sunset but I know from staying at the south beach you can see a beautiful sunset from this beach. My granddaughter enjoyed playing on the playground. The concession stand sadly wasn't open yet so we didn't get to try that. Only thing missing was changing rooms.
