When I was a kid in the 50's, climbing the tower was an exciting part of a day at the beach in R.I. At 40' tall, you could get a great view all around. Visiting it yesterday, 60 years later, was a big let down. It's covered in graffiti and all of the rails are peeling, it looks awful. Worst of all, once you get to the top, there's nothing to see but the tops of trees in most directions.

Been going here for over 40 years. Great place to go as an adult or child. It's very high up,but railings to hold on to all the way to top great scenery from the middle up. Brought grandson there,he loved it

Disappointing right now. No information provided on the unique history of the tower. Rails and graffiti need to be painted over. Had zero view of the bay, only pine tress one side and Mobil on the other.

This was disappointing. The location is a p.i.t.a. to get to. The parking was fine. The CLIMB up the steps was not expected. I've climbed most of the lighthouses on the east coast, which most are much taller than this, the steps of those lighthouses are a pleasant walk compared to this. And the payoff of the view... go check out the aforementioned lighthouses. The view was OK. It is autumn, so there are fewer leaves in the trees, so the view is probably better now than in summer. If you're bored, don't mind stairs, don't have bad knees or vertigo. It IS solidly built. There are secure handrails that I recommend you use, especially coming down. Maybe if they had a zipline for coming down, over Rt 1...

This place is as intriguing as a car crash. It affords an excellent view of the Mobile station across the street as well as several trees that block what must have been an interesting view of the shoreline at some point. It makes for a good climb and you can see a lot of different graffiti. From phrases like I love you too smiley faces, the literature and the writing on the walls are entertaining. No...
