I don't believe the trail is meant to be used from Lily Lake by hikers. The best place for a hiker is to start at Angora Lakes and go about half a mile to an amazing viewpoint ,with surprisingly comfortable log benches, then turn around immediately. The trail appears to be mostly meant for mountain bikers to bomb down to Lily Lake from Angora then get picked up...
