Love this place! We went on a Friday and there was almost no one there. It didn't feel busy until almost 1pm. There are picnic tables and 6 bathrooms spread almost a mile of beach. The pine trees behind the beach provide some shade. Almost all the beach has super close parking. The beach is sandy and so is the water. The wind blows from behind the beach so byour not being bombarded by wind the entire day. I've been to King's Beach and Sand harbor beach and I feel like this is my favorite. It's way less crowded and you don't have to haul your stuff for ever to get to a spot. This beach is definitely worth the extra drive time.

This is the trail near the entrance to Pop Beach. The entrance to Pop Beach was tightly closed because it snowed so much. All the beaches in this area were blocked, so I couldn't leave because I couldn't go in and see the pretty beach. In the meantime, I saw a trail that was neatly maintained, so I walked for a while. (Tahoe's ability to clear snow is truly amazing.) Although I don't think I went to Pop Beach, the scenery around it is so beautiful that I share it here.

Here’s what Pope Beach looks like in the winter😍 It’s worth it though🙌🏽 You have to pay for parking during the season but there are a handful of parking spots on the street if you don’t mind walking .25 mile, carrying all your stuff. There are picnic benches, tree shade, and plenty of parking inside. I imagine this is a very popular place during the summer….
