This is the 3rd time I've booked a boat from this marina and it has always been great. The booking online is so easy. We have also rented SeaDoos and paddle boards here. We booked the 24' regal arch boat again for the 4th of July. When we were doing the inspection we noticed the front seat was broken. Don was absolutely awesome. He took care of us and we ended up with a bigger boat which was nice with 9 of us in our party. Don made sure we were taken care of so we could have a great day on the lake. I love how easy it is at that marina. We were out half the day and decided to come back for lunch at the Beacon Bar and Grill, also a great place for lunch. I just called the office and they sent a person out to taxi us in and dock the boat. After lunch we went back out for another loop through emerald bay and some afternoon tubing. I will definitely be back at Camp Richardson Marina when I want to take my family out on the Lake. I highly recommend renting a boat and seeing Lake Tahoe from the water it is awesome.

We wanted to hike down to Emerald Bay but got their too late for parking. We instead went to Camp Richardson where we rented a boat for 2 hours and toured the bay ourselves. The 21 foot boat had plenty of space for the four of us. We could have fit a family of 8 easily. The cruise to Emerald bay was easy. We circled the tea house a few time and took some great photos. We ended our trip with some speedy trips around the lake. It’s a little pricey but we had a blast.

We did the boat tour to Vikingsholm which also included a guided tour of the castle. It was great! The only thing that could’ve been clearer was the email confirmation should have said that we needed to have $12 cash for parking. I kind of feel like if you pay $99 for a tour, they could toss in free parking. We literally had $12 cash on us so sadly we had nothing left to tip our boat driver, Jack, who was friendly and informative on the ride out and back.

BEWARE! BEWARE on MOTORIZED BOAT RENTALS AT THIS LOCATION!!!!

BEFORE YOU RENT A BOAT AT CAMP RICHARDSON MARINA OR ANY OF THE OTHER 3 LOCATIONS THE OWNER OPERATES MAKE SURE YOU ASK THE YEAR OF BOAT AND HOW MANY HOURS THE BOAT HAS ON IT THAT YOU WILL BE RENTING. ASK IF ALL THE GAGES WORK AND IF THE RADIO WORKS! YOU WANT A KNEW BOAT WHEN YOU RENT A BOAT.

TALKING WITH THE STAFF THAT WORKS AT MARINA THE OWNER BOB DOES NOT CARE ABOUT RENTING QUALITY NEW FULLY WORKING NICE BOATS. HE KNOWS HE IS GOING TO GET RENTALS BOOKED BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION HE IS AT. IT IS REALLY TO BAD AND MADE ME FEEL LIKE I GOT RIPPED OFF. HE IS BEING GREEDY!

MY BOAT WAS WAY OLD I AM TALKING OVER 10 YEARS OLD WITH 1884 HOURS ON IT. THE EXTERIOR WAS TOTALLY OXIDIZED. THEY HAD TAPE ON THE BATHROOM DOOR, THE SEAT INTERIOR WAS PARTIALLY REPLACED WITH NEW INTERIOR AND THE REST WAS ORIGINAL SO LOOKED HORRIBLE. SPEAKER MISSING, THE RADIO DIDNT WORK, THE FUEL GAGE AND SPEEDOMETER DIDNT WORK. YOU CAN'T SWIM OFF THE BOAT THEY DO NOT PROVIDE A ANCHOR.

THEY CHARGED ME $600.00 FOR 2 HOURS OF USE. I AGREED TO THAT PRICE BUT, WAS TOLD WHEN I SPOKE TO THE GAL ON PHONE IT WAS ONE OF THERE NEWER BOATS AND WAS THE FASTEST BOAT THEY HAD. I WAS VERY EXCITED WHEN SHE TOLD ME THAT BUT, WAS SO DISAPPOINTED WHEN I ARRIVED TO TAKE THE FAMILY OUT. I FELT SCAMMED BUT THE KIDS WANTED TO HIT THE WATER SO WE DID AND WE HAD FUN HOW CAN YOU NOT!

$65.00 FOR A TUBE TO TOW.

THEY CHARGE $9.50 A GALLON FOR FUEL WHEN YOU RETURN SO I HAD A $165.00 DOLLARS IN FUEL COST

SINCE I COMPLAINED SO MUCH ABOUT THE BOAT THEY FINALLY GAVE ME A DISCOUNT ON FUEL AND PAID $80.00. I APPRECIATED THAT.

TOTAL COST FOR 2 HOUR WAS $745.00

I RECOMMEND RENTING A BOAT IN TAHOE JUST NOT FROM CAMP...

My family and I have stayed in both campgrounds, the motel, the hotel, and several of the cabins from the Moon (which is only slightly more comfortable than camping) to some of the deluxe cabins. We return almost every summer because of the ideal location rather than for the accommodations and service.

The beach and forested grounds are lovely with easy access to bike and walking trails. An A+ ice cream shop, as well as riding stables and bicycle rentals, are right across the street. It is a short drive to a grocery store. A boat marina is right on site.

Years ago Camp Rich had a tennis court, a playground, and a croquet field, which we miss. It also used to be a quiet place to stay. Not so today. Loud music from Beacon's Restaurant destroys the tranquility of the beach in the afternoons, and noise from some of the heritage homes that are rented out for weddings and other events sometimes shatters the silence of the evenings.

The campgrounds are adequate, but the quiet-after-ten-pm rule is often not enforced, and the restrooms are cleaned and restocked with paper only once a day. At times too many tents are allowed on a site. Last June four football teams were squeezed onto a few sites, which over-impacted the men's rooms.

The cabins are clean but under-stocked with kitchen-wares and linens. A couple of flimsy towels per person is hardly enough. How difficult would it be to visit the local thrift stores and add an adequate supply of dishes, glassware, flatware, serving utensils, ovenware, small appliances, and pots and pans to each cabin?

With a little bit of thought and TLC, Camp Richardson could be so much better. Its premiere location deserves a bit more care on the part of...

We rented a 24' Regal Arch motorboat from the Camp Richardson Marina yesterday for our annual 4 hour lunch & tubing cruise with our kids and grandkids. As a retired business business owner I know that even in the best run of enterprises problems can occur, especially with a complex electro-mechanical system as a modern motorboat in a rental environment. We have utilized several different boat rental companies in the past, and have encountered the occasional problems that one might expect. However yesterday we chose Camp Richardson Marina for the first time and were very pleased we did. I have always believed that the value of an individual or a business is not "did everything go smoothly?", but rather "what is the response if their is a problem?" Near the end of our voyage we did encounter a problem and I was extremely impressed with the response we received from Camp Richardson Marina Staff Members Greg and Courtney. In particular, Greg's customer service skills were outstanding. His professional response to our circumstances provided me with the confidence that I will now utilize Camp Richardson Marina exclusively in the coming years. Great service needs to be recognized and rewarded, and I hope to accomplish such with this well deserved review....
