Went here a few times with my 5 month old German shorthair pointer and quickly realized a lot of owners are just irresponsible and lazy. As other people have noted in reviews, a dog park is for socialization not free to bring your dog to tire out because you leave it at home all day. They bring toys into the park twice we had an issue on the small dogs as well as a large dog side of dogs, being possessive of toys and frisbees attacking other dogs, and of course, owners are completely clueless of etiquette and the purpose of socialization. If your dog is possessive of a toy, common sense says you should not bring it into the park where it starts fights with other dogs to come up to them, which naturally happens. I also had a old lady and her old little dog, attack my dog, because he was insecure and possessive of a ball. Don’t bring your grouchy old dog into a park if it’s gonna be aggressive and attack any dogs that comes up to a ball in the park. Again common sense I would think an older lady would have but no! I’ll continue to take my dogs on hikes and socializing, a different manner, because clearly this...
Read moreThis was my first time at a dog park. There was a section for big dogs and a section for large dogs.
The fence was in tact. There was a place to dispose of our dog's poop. There are benches for owners to sit down. The ground is grass and woodchips.
There was tires to go through over or under. There were big barrels for the dog to go through. They also had a wood piece the dog could go up and down on.
Maybe in the warmer months the water fountains wills work for the dogs drink if you forget yours. There are dog bowls placed around the park.
Oh!! The park was super clean. Like I'll be coming back for probably ever. It was so clean. I want to give it 5 stars just because of how clean it was. I did see a gentlemen cleaning as well.
They do have signs about wearing masks. Out of the 16 to 20 owners present I only saw my husband and I and maybe 4 other people with a mask on their face. So that was the only negative. The parking could be better as well. I came from Hartford so it's not in walking...
Read moreI personally find this park to be okay. I think many owners need to pay attention to what their dogs are doing rather than just sit there and socialize, ignoring their dog(s) in the event their dog is being aggressive and/or out of hand. Reading another comment in saying that "the dogs are there to socialize, not for dumb owners to allow their hyper dogs to get their energy out" Really, dog owners are supposed to tire out their dog prior to bringing them to the park??? The dogs are there to socialize/ play, thus burning energy. I don't agree with any dog being aggressive towards any other dog or anyone. But seriously I hate to say this or compare but do people tire their kids out prior to taking them to play on the playground....no. They are there to play that's how dogs interact with one another....that's...
