Awesome place with no entrance fees. Do not miss walking around the Spillway and around Lake Drummond on the south side of the gardens. The view of the spillway from the bridge across the lake is beautiful. This is an unusual spot where three modes of travel are on top of each other at one point - First the South Creek Bike trail is right next to the creek, Then there is a road on top of the bike trail, and then a train track on top of the road. The Butterfly House is another interesting place to stop by. The Mizumoto Japanese Garden is a part of the Botanical Gardens and has the best views; but there is a nominal fee of $4.00 for that garden. We also really enjoyed taking them on the "train" as my kids called it, a small shuttle that takes you on a tour of the park for free. A few of the playground areas are still under construction, as of June 2019, but with the butterfly house open and multiple gardens, the homestead area, playground areas, open spaces for sports/kiting, pokemon GO central of SGF, the lake/bridge and geese, goslings, ducks, fish etc ... there's still plenty to do. The events they hold such as kite festival, or free outdoor family movie night are...

Came in the offseason, mid-april, and even though there wasn't a lot in bloom, there was still enough greenery and flowers starting the girls that the air smelled floral and sweet. Lots of nice pathways to explore and walk around. Encountered a few groundskeepers and employees, and all were friendly. Would love to come back Inn season to explore and see some of the things that were closed on the offseason such as the Butterfly House. There were a few areas that had to cost, such as the Japanese garden, but plenty to explore for free. Lots of parking, and on-site free restrooms during park hours-...
