Burbank Soccer Complex — Attraction in St. Gabriel

My husband and I are visiting from out of town for work and love the BREC parks around town. They're in great condition and offer lots of variety. We especially love the dog park at Burbank where we get to bring our 2 black labs and let them have some off-leash running time. There is a pavilion for shade (and lots of trees that will provide lots of shade when they get bigger), dog and people water fountain, small pond for dogs to swim in, plenty of doggy poo stations, and an area for you to give your dogs bath. They also have a separate small dog section if you're worried about your dog getting run over by the big boys.

Only annoying thing is the number of people that would ignore the dogs must be on leash sign outside of the fenced in area. They would just let their dog out into the parking...

Majority of the fields are very nice and well-kept. The soccer program is great buy can wt expensive as expected. Awesomely enough, they offer financial aid for those who qualify and it's a simple and quick process done thru mail and email. Everyone I have ever spoken to on the phone has been knowledgeable and helpful, pleasant. There's other things to do there... there is a nice lake to take the kids to or walk your dog. Even feed the geese. I should mwntion, NON-AGGRESSIVE GEESE LOL. I say this bc I have encountered too many geese that will chase you and your kids down. Bathrooms are adequate and generally stocked while being about as clean as a public, frequently used bathroom is gonna be. Have fun and...

Bob LOVES this Bark Park. He says it's a good sized open space for him and his friends to play and run with special separate areas just for big dogs and little dogs, swimming dogs, and an agility course for the jocks! He really likes the paved path for Mommy to get her workout too. And, if she's feeling lazy or hot there's plenty of benches and a covered shelter. All the 'thumbs' are nice and pick up after their furbabies. There's a fountain for me and, poop bags are always available. It's easy for Mommy to find with plenty of parking. The only thing he doesn't like is that there's a dog wash station. Yuck! It's just awful when Mommy rinses off all the good stink I just work so...
