Dog Park at Burbank Park — Attraction in St. Gabriel

Not the best, not the worse. I do like that they have a few different areas fenced off. Fencing should be a bit higher. Agility area is not great, and really needs to be fixed up, as the a-frame has a large ditch and mud puddle under it that is super not safe. Also need more items, to me. With the large pond, it should be kept up better, as one dog got some fungus from it on his paw/toe. Not a fan of the people letting in aggressive dogs that tried to start a few things, or owners ignoring dogs, but I feel that happens all the time. Bad owners at lots of dog parks. Over all, good way of setting up, but may want to look into a dog wash area after being in the pond, along with maybe also turning the pond into a pool and adding a dock area for dock diving practice. This park separates small dogs and large dogs by allocating a fenced in space based on dog size. Some owners don't always follow this rule (this IS a rule of this dog park) but any consequences that come as a result of their ignorance is their fault.

There is a dedicated, separated swimming area for both small dogs and large dogs to help keep dogs of similar size together. A wash station is available to clean your pup up after swimming.

There is also an agility course and a swimming retrieving area that is separated from dogs not training. There is only one covered seating area in the large dog park and maybe the small dog park as well (I don't use that park so I don't recall 100%).

We usually bring our dog to the Rasing Cane’s dog park off of Millerville because it’s closer to home. There are always plenty of dogs to play with and the mini swimming pools. But I have to say I’m so glad I made the drive to Burbank Park because they have ponds for your dog to swim in. After a swim, they have a dog wash station so you can rinse them off from being in the pond! The park is absolutely huge and just amazing. They have an agility court for you to test your doggos skills. This place is my new favorite. I will be going from now on! But most important my dog loved it and he took a long nap when...
