Joe Wheeler State Park Marina — Attraction in St. Joseph

Probably the nicest campgrounds I've visited in north Alabama. Rental cottages on the lake are nicer than goosepond. Plenty of tails to walk. I saw a deer eating beside the road and it wasnt spooked so I guess theres fairly tame wildlife around. Marina is nice. Have boats to rent and nature scenic boat rides. That's likely just. A fluffed up boat ride. Not any real desirable nature to go look for. Some gators are about the area (lake wheeler) but RARELY...

Marina looked great and so did the Lodge, but, we were very disappointed at how the swimming area and picnic areas were still absolutely torn up with shattered trees and debris from the tornados last Fall. Hopefully, maybe... They will restore it to be able to use next year?!? Too bad. Really... We love to enjoy all of the...

Not sure how they're getting away with it,but the pontoon boats haven't renewed their license since October of last yr. Also, the woman running the shop is the queen of Karens.. Worst customer service experience we've had in years..Definitely...
