My husband and I took our daughter to do this for her birthday. We had 2 adults and 3 teen girls. The owner was very nice and accommodating. She helped me secure my booking over the phone since I was having issues with the online system. We enjoyed talking to her while we waited for the other part of our group to arrive. The major issue we had was having to work with total strangers. Now I did know that we were going to be in the room with another group when I booked, so it isn’t like I didn’t know what we were signing up for. However, the group we worked with got there just before 7 (instead of 20 minutes early) and kind of took off and went crazy running around the room randomly which honestly put a damper on my (and my girls) enjoyment of the experience. If we had had a few minutes to talk to them ahead of time and maybe even attempt to strategize this whole thing would have gone off a lot better. I really felt like I spent a lot of money to not get the enjoyment out of the experience that we were anticipating. My daughters friend who went with us was the only one to have ever done an escape room and she thought the way the other group went at it was very chaotic as well. My husband made the most of it and really jumped in and tried to participate, and I was really glad he was able to enjoy himself. However the rest of us honestly felt like we were just there because the other group kind of took over and went wild. I would do this again, but next time I would make sure I brought along friends or family who I knew and could work with. As long as you book all 10 spots you don’t have to work with strangers, but with the economy like it is I couldn’t really afford to do that...
Read moreI took our leasing team to Unlocked for accomplishing a leasing goal. Two of us had been before but had done different rooms than the one that we decided on- The Asylum. The facility was nice and the rooms were set up really well and had very cool stories and themes for each one. However, I had already had an unpleasant experience getting in touch with anyone after I had made the reservation to get my confirmation email that never sent. I understood that their hours are only in the evening on certain days so I left a voicemail assuming someone would get back to me. I hadn't received a response for three days and we had to reach out to them on Facebook to confirm that our reservation had gone through. We did have a great time while in the room and the woman who gave us instructions before going in was very sweet and informative. Our team actually escaped the Asylum room with about 19 minutes to spare and were super pumped and excited. The gentleman who came in the room after we escaped quickly dampened our celebration. He proceeded to accuse us of cheating, asking if anyone had done the room before, and instead of being excited for us, he seemed to be upset that we had escaped. Since I've only been here once, I'm hoping this was just one bad experience because this is a really unique experience for people of Statesboro to be able to take part in. I will most likely not be taking my group back for any future outings after the experience we...
