I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. I used to run on all the wonderful hilly off-road trails while my mom walked the paved pathway. They have a beautiful pathway winds thru the woods along a river. It’s very relaxing to walk or ride here. When I’m not feeling so energetic and want a nice relaxing time this is where I like to ride my bike. The path is mostly flat with a few small hills and the flowing paved paths make for an easy pleasant ride. Lots of people are often here on weekends so it’s also better to go a bit slower. There are also many unpaved and more rustic trails here. These are not well labelled or maintained. Not my favorite for mountain biking but a nice change every now and then. The entire park is pretty low laying and the path follows along a river so it can be very flooded in springtime or after a big storm so be aware. The trail can be followed all the way thru downtown Utica and picks up again leading into River Bends Park. Here the paved trail gets wider, more hilly and challenging. The bike trails here are fun and various levels of challenge. It’s a good idea to look at signs on trailheads to make sure you walk/ride the right direction. People ride pretty fast out here and come up quick on the sharp turns. Some trails are very narrow, steep, rocky or full of exposed roots. It’s a good idea to not ride trails alone especially if you are inexperienced. If you are riding be aware that people and deer walk here too. Ive walked my bike up and down many a hill here! lol The gravel, roots and steep hills can be very challenging. This is one of my favorite places. The trails throughout are beautiful with lots of trees, shade and many wildflowers thru the year which add to the beauty. The park itself features lots of activities including a water park and two gazebos. There are playgrounds all throughout. Nice place to take the kids and they also have events at both Dodge and River Bends parks...

Update 08/24/23 Last day for music in the park. Many of the new food trucks didn't make it to the end. As always, the entertainment was awesome. Sterling test was its usual brand of cool with many great music acts at all the different stages. The jazz stage was particularly good this year.
