Skamania Lodge Adventures — Attraction in Stevenson

We had a great time. I took my twins on the zip line for their 21st birthday. I thought it would be a memory they would remember. Seeing their terrified 60 year old mother doing it. Yes, I was completely terrified, and could barely stand, but the guides were fantastic. So kind and well there was no turning back.

I was a little disappointed in the front desk as I asked for a 1/2 hour extra to check out so we could go to breakfast. And we waited quite a while to get the room. Would have made it that much better to not feel rushed.

All in all we had a great time. Cindy our beloved 13 year lab came. Stayed in the car during the zip line. Felt comfortable leaving the windows open and asked the front desk if they would check up on her as the tour was 2 hours. We found a nice shady spot and she was fine had water left the car unlocked and windows down.

It was pretty expensive, but I think everyone had a good time and look forward to doing a bike trip while there next...

Accomodations (Tree House) were spectacular. There were, however, glitches in our stay. Our friends who had booked a lodge accomodation were informed when they arrived that the lodge had overbooked and there was no room available!????? Anyway, the lodge eventually found them a room, but one of the guests had to sleep on a roll-away! Additionally, we were very limited in food options on the take-out menu. Of all the items offered on the menu, several of them were "currently not available". At "resort prices", this seemed unacceptable. Especially since one could make toast and eggs at home! Our service people were generally excellent. I would go back, perhaps, once the reviews indicate that "resort amenities" were once again available. It is a beautiful setting and there are entertainment...

Took the wife and kids for our second go of Zip lining here, and again was treated to an absolutely awesome experience. Our guides, Loren and Anthony, were awesome, friendly and most importantly, patient with my youngest kiddo who was a little frightened at times. They took every opportunity to assure our kiddos they were safe, lightened the mood with their humor, and did a fantastic job sharing information about the Zip line course and its history. Did I mention that the Zips are an absolute BLAST!?!?? Highly recommend, will absolutely be going again!!! One word of warning (and encouragement) for those adverse to heights: The most gut wrenching part of this Zip line tour was the auto belay. Just do as they say, trust the gear, and you will be...
