My family and I have frequented the Sunday Brunch many times and while it is expensive, we always feel it is worth the money due to the impeccable service and food. Unfortunately, last Sunday will be our last time going. They ran out of crab by the time we got there which was disappointing but they did offer us 20% off of our entire meal for the inconvenience but when my boyfriend was getting an omlelet made the sever told him that it was a slow brunch and they did not have nearly as many people as normal so they obviously did not prepare properly. My daughter and I had been talking about how excited we were for crab that entire week. Our server seemed annoyed with us for asking him to refill our mimosas even though they are included with the brunch and we had to wait over 10 minutes for each drink. I mean, it’s called the Sunday Champagne Brunch... We practically had to yell at our server when he was serving another table to get a refill of our mimosa or soda. In the past when we have been there for brunch they have servers walking around happily filling up your drinks and you never have to wait. There was not nearly as much food selection as normal and they either kept running out of things or were not replacing them quickly enough. We actually left the meal hungry after spending over $300. The food items we were excited to have were not there. They didn’t ask what cut of prime rib we wanted and while that may seem like a small annoyance, the little things included in the brunch are always what made it worth the money. The service and food selection have gone way down hill and have made it no longer worth it. Our server seemed annoyed with us the entire meal until the very end of the brunch right before we were about to tip and suddenly he perked up and...
Read moreWas so excited to check out the Skamania Lodge and had heard great things of the dining room...
Firstly, the menu online was completely different from the menu when we got there... ALSO, there were out of SO MANY different things, limiting our choices immensely... This was a Thursday night a week before Memorial Day weekend, so it wasn't a very busy time..
Well, 3 of us got the Chicken all sitting on the same side of the table. One plate came out with a piece of chicken 1/3 the size of the other two, the polenta cake was half the size, and the portion of cauliflower was missing it's sauce as well as was half sized. As someone who was worked in restaurants for over 10 years, I know that there are MANY eyes that are supposed to check that plate before the customer receives it (kitchen expo, food runner, waiter, etc).
When my friend pointed out to the waiter that his plate was unacceptable and that he wanted a new one, the waiter went on to deny responsibility, saying "I didn't plate it..."
I was more taken aback by the defensiveness of the waiter than I have ever been. We weren't being rude... My friend said he wasn't going to be paying for his meal if that was the approach, to which the waiter quickly backpedaled, apologized and went to order him another plate... By the time his food came out, everyone was itching to leave because the 2 hour dining experience with slow moving poor service had left us all wanting to leave...
You may ask: was the food good at least? I had the most overcooked shrimp for an appetizer ($18 for 3 shrimp) that I have ever eaten... My chicken was extremely overdone and chewy (I barely ate any of a $32 entree and didn't even want the leftovers).
I should have brought...
Read moreThe food was delicious! We stayed at the resort for 3 nights. We ate the buffet twice and regular menu for breakfast once, lunch twice, and dinner once. I found that our drinks were rarely checked on unless they were alcohol. Weekend buffet is definitely better than Monday buffet. We did have 2 infants and 2 toddlers that were 3.5... first day the hostess told us that any child under 3 gets free buffet so we didn't do buffet. the second day we did and on the receipt, we were charged for all 4 kids and it said kids buffet 4-12. When we asked the server, kids 3 & under eat free. She then had them all removed. the third day, we were charged for the toddlers, which was understandable, one is 70 percentile and the other is 90th percentile in height. They did fix this for us. On Saturday night we had reservations for prime rib, my friend moved up our reservation time but did not notice it changed the date. when we arrived at 5, we were told they couldn't sit anyone until 815, even a 2 top and prime rib would not be able to be made d/t closing at 9. My friend had planned our day around this prime rib. I talked to the other restaurant, reception, and room service and could not get the prime rib anywhere else bc it is limited and can only be served at cascade. We were also told a 1.5 hr wait at the other restaurant. Luckily they hostess was able to sit us last minute. We did have something that was diabetic with us. Come Sunday, we go to our 5pm reservation and they had left over prime rib from Saturday. Was happy to have it but a bit annoyed about the situation. It would have been nice if staff had been a little more flexible. We did have nice servers, great atmosphere,...
