What a beautiful place for a hike. We enjoyed a beautiful colorful sunset on warm mid February day. The place itself was serene, a few people with dogs.
Being our first time we had a difficult time figuring out the way. Signage could be better. We parked at the Arabia Mountain Nature preserve. It has a big gravel parking lot on the side and a smaller parking area closer to the restrooms. As you enter the trail there are picnic tables. We saw a few couples on hanging benches. From there we asked a few people how to get to the mountain and were dire ted to go left on the boardwalk until we crossed Klondike Rd. That was a 10 min walk. The crosswalk light was not working so we ran across when there were no cars in sight lol. This is wher it got interesting. Maybe we missed a sign or something but there is a side entrance to the mountain area it seems or you go dpwn the boardwalk. We took the boardwalk for about 10 minutes and had no idea how to access the mountain itself that we could cleary see on our left. Not my proudest moment but we ended up jumping over the boardwalk down to the mountain floor. I hope to find a better solution on our next visit.
From there we had a moderate walk through the granite mountainfloor and within about 7 minutes were on the highest elevation.
Hope this helps. Oh and this place has no lighting whatsoever on the trail or the mountain so if you get caught there after sundown be preapred with flashlights.
So, beautiful scenery, very easy/moderate walk. However no clear signage makes this a bit more of an adventure or headache depending on your point of view. Enjoy!

Read moreThis place has a little bit of something for everyone. Want a nice paved trail to bike, skate, and have a casual walk? They've got you covered with long trails through scenic woods, and up the mild slope of Arabia Mountain. Want something a little more secluded? They've got dirt trails for a more authentic hike. Or maybe you're like me, and want to get off of the beaten paths and find your own options for traversal. This is where Arabia Mountain shines. There is variety of terrain here that you normally have to go up north or pay an entrance fee at Stone Mountain to get. There are quarries, streams, lakes, modest granite hills. Both nature and curious explorers have contributed to making clearings that make forging your own paths much easier. One of my favorite things to do is to find creative ways to cross the creek beds, such as finding a downed tree and making a make-shift bridge across. It's a nice quaint hiking trail that I would...
Read moreNeat trail to take our young boys to, ages 1-6 years. We actually parked at the AWARE lot and hiked up the mountain from there. We went at the end of December and there were a few signs of the little red plants that grow here, though they weren't really blooming much. The trail had some muddy/watery areas that we had to find ways around, but my boys loved climbing and exploring. The trail is mostly a gently sloping, uneven rock except at the base of the mountain that we climbed. That was relatively steep, but easily doable for our toddlers. The cute was great and if it weren't cloudy I bet the sunset would have...
